We are especially proud of our successfull implementations. They are the final results of all research and development works conducted in the Institute. Every day a couple of new products or technologies are developed by us, these in turn are available to the enterprises.

Institute of Ceramics and Building Materials thanks to its vast experience of research staff conducting various tasks undertakes wide range of activities in research and applications for the needs of economic entities on internal domestic market and abroad , and provides original projects and technologies. We have been very successful in developing cooperation with industry and thanks to the active cooperation with our partners we implement results of our research works both at big production plants as well as small service type companies.

Applying in  practice results of research and development works stands for one of the tasks of ICiMB. Here one may distinguish two groups of practical achievements:

  • implementation of technology on domestic market and abroad based on own research and development achievements,
  • implementation of technologies within target projects.

Description of economic and social effects:
4000 kg of granulate of determined specified parameters during the spray-drying process of mass based on alumina was formed at the Institute . The entire amount of granulate was used by company PPHU POWŁOKA to dry-sand molding of construction elements at the isostatic press.

Description of economic and social effects:
In this work, testing of materials and analysis of thermo-mechanical stresses was carried out and curves of furnace heating and cooling, allowing the correct operation of furnace hearth, was developed. The type of hearth bricks, most suitable for furnace heating and cooling processes, was indicated. The application of results will have relevant effect on prolonged furnace campaign and, in consequence, on decreasing of repair and recycling costs.

Description of economic and social effects:
In this work, the chemical properties of different commercial caustic MgO was assessed. The obtained results allowed the indication of raw material suitable for manufacturing of magnesia-based, fire-preventing plates, which may find application in producing of construction elements’ fire-preventing lining and independent structures with declared fire resistance class.

Description of economic and social effects:
Recipe for moulding gypsum was made with prevailing participation of Polish raw materials and composites and will replace imported products on our market. The enterpreneur had a goal to increase the number of his customers with small and large ceramic plants, where production was largely based on ceramic gypsum used for utility ceramics as well as plants producing sanitary ceramics. In relation to this a number of research and develoment works were started in order to develop an innovative product - moulding ceramic gypsum comparable to leading products within this class on the market.
